I was born and raised in Egypt which is home to the Red Sea. As much as we could, my mom would always take me and my siblings to the Red Sea on our vacations. As a kid, I remember seeing flashes of colors and movement (I don't have clear pictures as memories) whenever we would snorkel. It was simply magical, a whole new world. As I grew up, I remember feeling excited as we would go to the Red Sea again. However, when we would arrive it wasn't like before, it started losing its colors and life, started turning grey and becoming dead. So, we would always go further south to try and find this amazing world and thankfully we started seeing it more. We are lucky to still have some great sites along our coasts but this doesn't mean that they are not threatened and that they could not disappear soon.
